About Fairfield Harbour
The beautiful Fairfield Harbour is one of New Bern's premier golfing and boating communities. It is located right off of Highway 55, on the way to Oriental, the boating capital of the world. This subdivision is also a ten minute drive from New Bern and easily accessible via Highway 70. Fairfield Harbour covers more than an impressive 2,000 acres of land along the Neuse River with water access to the Pamlico Sound, the Intercoastal Waterway, and the Atlantic Ocean. Boating is a very popular pastime for the residents in Fairfield Harbour and it proudly offers two boating clubs. The Faifield Harbour Yacht Club has a 24-year history, and the Blackbeard Sailing Club offers racing, open regattas, and hosts class Nationals.
In addition to boating, Fairfield Harbour is known for it's two championship golf courses designed by Rees Jones, ASGCA. The Shoreline Course (although not currently in service at the time of this writing) was built in 1972 and features 6,802 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72, according to Golf Link. The Harbour Point course is a bit newer than the Shoreline course, and it was built in 1985. This eighteen hole course features 6,577 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. For the residents of Fairfield Harbour, there are several clubs you can join to enjoy the links. The Fairfield Harbour LGA holds weekly tournaments from March to November for friendly fellowship and competition. For ladies wanting learn golf or intermediate ladies, the LGA 9 Hole group play weekly from March to November. This club focuses on learning how to play the game and the rules that make it up. Trips to other courses are made as well. The FH Men's Golf Association is open to male residents eighteen and older. It provides social and recreational activities for the men who enjoy the game of golf.
A unique community, Fairfield Harbour has just one main entrance off of Highway 55 on Broad Creek Road. Beautiful, wrought iron gates with the signature anchor and neighborhood sign welcome you. Gated entries to the neighborhood with security guards provide 24 hour protection to more than 1,300 homes. In addition to these single family homes, Fairfield Harbour also has 152 condominiums, 24 townhouses, and timeshare units available. To suit anyone's taste, homes in this subdivision are situated in a variety of environments, including waterfront, golf course, and interior lots.
